Web Design in Austin Texas

thursday-1/19/12

Man, one of my resolutions for 2012 is to blog more regularly.

I'm so excited though. I just ordered Khoi Vinh's book on grid based design. He is the guy who inspired the design of my website. But I'm about to revamp this little beast. Try and lighten the mood up a little bit. That should be soon.

And, Happy new year! Even though we are a good three weeks in already. I hope it is treating you okay so far.

sunday-12/11/11

Lots of exciting things on the horizon it seems. I am very grateful for the opportunities I have, and the new stuff I am learning about the web right now.

And we are getting close to the end of another year. They seem to go by so fast. But hopefully it has been a productive one for all of us, and we can get ready for another good time in 2012.

Happy Holidays from this web designer, hermit-like, dude. Peace and love. :)

Are you into restoring old studio multitrack tape machines? Yeah, I am too. That's why I created this new forum at www.vintageanalog.net. It is a place for those who are enthusiastic about recording their music onto tape instead of into a computer. It is also there for those who are running into the usual roadblocks that come up when you attempt to record your music on tape (i.e. everything in your studio seems to be broken to some extent since the gear you use is OLD). Anyway, that is my new love, so if you are interested in participating or registering, then head over there and take a gander. I will also mail you a free vintage analog t-shirt for your efforts to go register. Enjoy! And I hope your day is treating you well. Peace and love, and a little bit of coffee.

saturday-9/24/11

Man, 60 degrees on my thermometer outside today this morning. Feels so good. It's nice to see the fall finally arriving, and the plants are a little bit happier.

sunday-9/4/11

Oooohhhhh.... the fall is almost here, I can feel it... the quiet in the air... the hungover longhorn fans... the leaves are falling... I love the fall, it's a wonderful time to stay indoors and be creative. I hope you are enjoying this transition again, as much as I am. I love it everytime.

friday-8/19/11

It's scary how much I can relate to this, minus the skinny jeans, but it's hilarious. Haha.

monday-7/11/11

I picked up this book recently, and I am really enjoying reading it. It does a good job of covering some of the fundamentals of web design.

And I'm turning 30 in 9 days! Woohoo!

This has absolutely nothing to do with web design but I like the song and video. Make sure the HD is off or it glitches may glitch. I realized a couple of things. The HD was glitching because the battery on my MacBook Pro had exploded after a couple of years - apparently a common problem with these types of laptop batteries. And without the battery in my laptop, the computer was working at a very sloooowww pace, even though it was plugged into the wall. Therefore, the HD was glitching on me. It seems okay now though.

Also, I have since bought the Le Noise Album by Neil Young, and I feel like this Jason Lytle Song has a similar sound ← {it has the same chords... Am to E ... same key Am... etc.... chorus chords are similar too.. :) Jason Lytle's is just a little faster I guess.... now I know why I like both of them...} to the song "Love and War" on that album which I also think is very pretty. And I think Jason Lytle likes Neil Young a lot, so there you go...

When I first listened to that song "Love and War," I just zoned out to it on the way home from Waterloo. I loved how it just kept going on and on, verse after verse, with guitar solos breaking the verses up, in a very hypnotic way. I still love that, but I remember the first time I heard it, I had it cranked in the car, and it just pulled me in to some kind of dream world. I really love the way that recording sounds too. Very clean and reverby.

I have been helping my sister with her wordpress website and making sure that it is easy to find for the search engines. She has a pretty cool website! You can see it at www.hydeparkacupuncture.com. She is also an excellent acupuncturist if you are interested in trying it out.
