Hello! My name is Ira Henderson and I am a freelance web designer / developer living and working in Austin, Texas. I have been designing and developing websites for 8 years now. After designing a website for a project in college, I thought it was an interesting experience, but did not get serious about doing it until 2 years after that, when I designed my website for the band I was in at the time.

I really enjoy the process of designing / building a website and hand coding the entire thing from scratch. After having done numerous sites, I have gotten to the point, where I am able to pull existing code from previous sites to make the building of a site move along at a faster pace. This is very important because it saves the client money, as it takes me less time to build a site now. Also, I am able to build a site which the client can update the information on their own, which is extremely important for saving time and money on both sides.

I build my websites based on current web standards with HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. I design them using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Fireworks. I am always studying and learning to improve my skills in these areas.

I also am very interested in building sites that can be found easily on the web when people are trying to find you. This is that term you probably hear everywhere now... SEO (search engine optimization). This is obviously a very important part of any website and deserves a lot of attention in the process. If you do it well, then your site becomes visible to a much larger audience, which is obviously a good thing if you are taking the time and money to build a website. Most people don't build websites so that they can hide out on the web. They usually do it for exposure.
